The Grace of Being path is very much connected to Dzogchen the path of self perfection.
On this journey the importance of a qualified teacher is essential. It is important to meet with your root teacher ( Guru, the one that show you the Light, this light is the Guru in you). In the first statement of Garab Dorje we have direct introduction. Through direct introduction we can have the pointing out or merging into the natural state with the teacher where the student experience directly his Natural state, Buddha nature, Primordial state, Tao state.. it is at that moment that the teacher or Guru become the root Guru. The root Guru has a very important role to play into your journey back home your true nature and manifestation ! Note that you can only have one root Guru, but many gurus teachers. My root Guru is Namkhai Norbu Rimpoche, gratitude and homage to him. When One spend time for example with me, during a retreat, sacred journey, having tea or what ever type of activities the potentiality to be introduce and experience to your natural state is big. Being fully conscious and aware of your Natural state is just the beginning of the path. There is nothing more important than that. This is why being in the physical presence of a teacher that have inner Knowledge of his true nature is important. Namkhai Norbu Rimpoche wrote and I confirm this with my own experience: "Once we discover our real nature, problems disappear, and it is no longer necessary to make any effort to overcome them. This is the value of the knowledge transmitted by the root teacher." _____________ Question / Statement from a reader: "A logical fallacy disproven stunningly in the case of the monks in Tibet and Burma, some years ago, who believed this fervently, and took no measures to react to the invasion by Chinese troops. Many were slaughtered, others put in prison camps. Their monasteries were burned to the ground. After that, they woke up (some anyway, including the Dali Llama, who advises everyone today that after you meditate on your cushion, you must get up and take ACTION too. He woke up in time to heroically escape from Tibet before they could get to him.)" Dhaya Dorje's Response: "The root guru is just there to guide or help you to your inner guru then the action is yours not related to the root guru. Not to be mistaken that you follow all what the root guru says. If he is real he will not tell you do this or that but take you back to your natural state so you see by yourself what is and what action is necessary."
